Westward Ho!! You guys are making good progress, despite the summer construction...blah! We thought Iowa's windmills looked like Teletubby Land...remember with the giant speaker that comes out of the ground to talk to the Tubbies? And Winter Quarters is one of our favorite stops too...so cool. Keep having fun!!
Oh, BTW, for Hannah ... "Battle Creek" so named because of a "battle" between a US survey party and two indians in which the indians tried to raid the survey camp, and were subdued by the use of rifle (new) fire. One indian was seriously injured and the incident had to be reported. The battle took place near a river ... hence "Battle Creek". Kind of like the "river of Laman" ot "the valley of Lemuel" ... :o)

Winter Quarters has got to be one of the most profoundly moving sites in Church History. That and the Liberty Jail make me cry tears of gratitude.
How could the Church not be true when we see the kind of faith those two areas demonstrate ?
The new Temple is lovely with the stained glass windows and beautiful grounds.
Looks like Iowa is T. Boone Land !
And everyone is still smiling!!
What a fun trek. I remember visiting Winter Quarters when I was probably Riley's age. It looks so beautiful!
We'll see you soon!
