The Sharks

It seems that everyday this spring has been filled up with one activity or another. Among other things, Ian has played on a soccer team. It is a team of 4&5 year-olds and they named themselves "The Sharks." It has been his first time being on a team, but he has watched his siblings do "team stuff" so he was excited for practices, games & a uniform. 2 moms from his preschool, a friend from church and I all signed up our boys to be on the same team & because they all know each other so well, many practices (games, too!) have turned into what we like to call "tackle soccer". Because of this, they haven't won one game all season, but Ian doesn't really seem to mind. Here's some pics of him and his teammates...it's been a fun season, for sure.

Ian's friends from church & school.

His friend, Luke, from preschool, was cracking me up at Saturday's game. In their age division, there is no goalie, but Luke decided that since he was playing defense that he'd just go ahead and play goalie anyhow. He was doing a really great job and had some great blocks, keeping the other team from scoring. During a time-out, he yelled out to his mom, "Hey Mom! I'm playing really good today!!!"
Getting some tips before the game.
Jeff was an assistant coach to the Sharks - he has also been assistant coaching Alec's baseball team. What a great Dad!

Saturday was #2's last game of the season. Next weekend we'll be up-north while the rest of the team plays their last game...Go Shark's!!

I love how it looks like they all have red legs (you can't see any leg above their little shin guards)! Go Ian! :)
