Rain or Shine.

Last week, I went on a field trip with Ian to Indian Springs MetroPark.
We were told that we would go, rain or shine.

Can you guess if we had rain or shine from this picture?

You guessed it...RAIN!
And not just a nice sprinkle, it was POURING and it was COLD.

We got to eat lunch together, inside - thank goodness.
Everyone at our table knew that Ian loved chocolate. They kept
holding up food from their lunch boxes that was some form of chocolate
and Ian would go crazy... Aye, yie, yie.
Just looking at the stuff makes his blood sugar go up!

Here's Ian with the little boy I was chaperoning.
We all went on a hike and looked for signs
of fall on the way.

Here's his whole class, post-hike.
They're wet but still smiling!

Ian got to touch a garter snake,

and some form of "Michigan vermin".
Muskrat, if I recall.

He got to make a leaf-print t-shirt.
Hannah & Alec still have theirs from this fieldtrip when they were in 1st grade.

They also made weather vanes out of straws and paper.

I always love doing fieldtrips with the kids. It gives me a chance to see them
with their friends and spend some one-on-one time together.
Even if it's raining... :)

I love his little concentrating face while he's cutting in that last pic. What a fun day...rain, rain go away.

I'm looking forward to field trips.

Oh fall. Thank you for the beautiful pictures! Even if these are a little wet, they are just how I remember the seasons changing.
