{homecoming queen}

No, Riley wasn't on the Homecoming Sophomore Court this year...
but, according to me (whose opinion is most important anyway),
she could have passed for Homecoming Queen!

As a matter of fact, my mom and I used to sing a silly little song
to Riley when she was a baby - singing that she would someday be the Homecomin' Queen.

This is so cliche, but it seems like I was just singing her that song,
making her fat baby legs dance along,
and now she is old enough to go!

We found her dress at our favorite boutique in downtown Milford.
Remember? They're the ones that, once purchased, the other dresses just like it
are labeled with your high school's name, and they won't sell it to anyone else going to
that high school's dance.

Here's her proud Daddy walking her to the car...

And I did her hair!
One of her friend's couldn't believe that it wasn't professionally done...hee, hee.
I did get a tip from my hair stylist - I asked her what we could do with her hair that was
easy, we could do ourselves, and that is popular right now.

Her response: "Curled and all pulled to one side. Like the 80's."
Funny thing...I wore my hair just like this to my junior homecoming dance.
Except I had rooster bangs and a HUGE white bow in the back.

She was invited to 2 parties, and couldn't decide which one to go to.
So she went to both.
This is party #1:

Sara. Riley. McKenzie. Maggie.

This is party #2, with her Sweeney Todd friends:

Riley & Lauren. They've been best friends since 2nd grade.
So sweet.

I'm counting my blessings that she was happy to go with a big group of kids.
No date. Just a fun night with friends.
