The "Friend" Party

Depending on the year,
sometimes our kids have gotten 3 birthday parties,
especially if their birthday happens to fall on a weekday...

The first is the "actual" day with just us.
The second is a "family" party. AKA - grandmas, grandpas,
and aunt, uncles and cousins.
The third is usually what we call the "friend" party.

2010 was Hannah's year!

Hannah's "friend" party was on Friday night.
Her "friend" parties are ALWAYS sleepovers, and this year
she invited 8 "friends" to her party.

She planned the whole thing, which was all themed around COLORS.
All of the girls had to come wearing as much of one color as possible.
The person with the most items of clothing on in that color would be the winner.
They all looked ridiculously cute!

They arrived at 5:00 and at 5:30 we surprised them with this:

A hummer-stretch limo.

It seated 16.
Good thing, because all 9 girls, Jeff, me, the boys, Riley & a friend, and my parents all piled in.

We went to McDonald's for dinner, drove through Milford High School's parking lot during their Homecoming Football Game (yelling "Go Lakeland!" out the windows),
and then to the Milford Dairy Queen for a treat -
all that with the girls giggling, switching seats, and music blaring.
(Mario sat in the front with the limo driver. Privacy glass CLOSED.)

Here's Hannah, mid-party:

Here's the little brothers, mid-party:

Outside the limo
(Lady GaGa pose):

We came home and had a fashion show
and opened presents:

We tie-dyed t-shirts
and ate a tie-dyed cake:

They stayed up WAY too late, but they were in the newly finished basement.
(2 days finished, to be exact!)
They watched movies and played our new favorite game
Telestrations.

Here's to "friend" parties...and conference weekend to recover!!

Happy Birthday week to Hannah!! The limo ride sounds like a blast, and HOORAY for a newly finished basement to send all the giggling to afterward!

That game sounds super fun too, we'll have to try it!
