The Spirit of the Season
Today the boys took their money to school in an envelope to spend at "Santa's Shop." I knew that everything would be a dollar, so they each got 6 dollars to spend - enough to get something for everyone in the family, including Libby. When the bus pulled up this afternoon, they each got off with a big bag full of presents. The first thing that Ian says to me as he's walking toward the house is, "I didn't have enough money to buy you anything...because I bought myself something!" Alec had the same thing to tell me, too. I didn't mind, but later I found them at the foot of the Christmas tree doing this...
Wasn't it thoughtful that they even wrote themselves a card to go with their presents? The funny thing is, they weren't even together when they bought their presents...great minds think alike!

And one last thing to get you into the holiday mood...as we were driving through the neighborhood on Tuesday night, looking at all of the pretty lights, Ian said, "Mom, let's count all of the golden colored lights that we see!" I replied that I hadn't seen any golden ones...and then I figured out that he meant the white lights. Isn't it funny how we all see things a little differently? So next time you see a boring house with only white lights, think of little Ian and his golden colored ones.

I think it is the golden "halo" he sees around the light, and rightly so, being such a little angel himself ! Well, except in the "gift-buying for Mother" dept. that is !
BTW, isn't our Hannah growing right up before our very eyes ! I love her modest up-to-standards dress.
I'm thinking you may have came out better in end, I'm not sure where my mood ring from the holiday shop is from last year... ROFL!
I know I keep saying this, but your kids are so CUTE!
That's so funny that they did the same thing without knowing what the other one was doing...great minds indeed!!
Hannah looks darling...I see you fixed her glasses after all.
I was remembering that it was the 7th grade Holiday Dance at Holmes Middle School that I first danced with your bro Jeff...and afterwards at school he asked me to "go" with him. Did Hannah find young love as well?!? Hee hee.
ohhhh, boys will be boys! Hopefully the "big boy" aka; the crazy high councilman, will not disappoint come Christmas morn!! ;)
Hannah looks totally cute and "flat-ironed"!! I hope she had fun. Those dances are muy importante in a tween-agers life!!
Feeling really glad that Haley wants nothing to do with the afterschool dances here! Hannah looks way too grown up. I can't even stand it when Haley puts on her choir dress that looks like a formal - no more little girls :(
