If I could bottle up all this energy...

Here is a list of everything I did BEFORE 11:45 am today:

1 - regular morning routine of getting kids up, lunches made & kids out the door.
2 - cleaned/wiped out fridge
3 - dropped off Ian at preschool
4 - used my 50% off coupon at Michael's for some scrappin' supplies
5 - bought the boys boots & hats at Target (it snowed last night & stuck!)
6 - did the weekly Costco run
7 - made it through a Core class at Lifetime & then climbed 20 stories on the stair-stepper.
8 - picked up Ian at 11:45!

What I did for the rest of the day:

1 - Ian & I went to Meijer & grocery shopped.
2 - put away groceries while simultaneously cleaning out the pantry
3 - built a train track with Ian for his Thomas trains.
4 - Showered (at 4:00 in the afternoon, mind you)
5 - Made tortellini soup for dinner while supervising homework time

This kind of energy-packed day is not a typical day for me. Why is it that some days I get so much done & other days I just putter around, not really making any progress on any one task? I feel good today, but tomorrow - who knows?

So, while I was at Meijer, I ran into the instructor who taught the Core class I had just attended that morning. We were both in the canned bean aisle. She said hello. While we made small-talk, I kept glancing over into her grocery cart. I wanted to see what she had in there, while trying to hide what was in mine - Cheetos, Lucky Charms, chocolate pudding. Maybe she would see the cantalope & mini-watermelon under all of that. She probably thought that if I would just stop eating all of that kid-food I would be able to do more tummy-crunches in her class.

As hard as I tried, all I could positively identify in her cart was a bag of apples. And, of course, the can of red kidney beans in her hand. Dang! I thought I might uncover her secret to that flat stomach & upper-arms that don't giggle when she waves. But alas, I did not. You know, I eat apples and kidney beans, too. Only I eat them after I've raided the kid's Halloween candy.

So, to finish my statement. "If I could bottle up all this energy...I'd save it for tomorrow." Because tomorrow I'm eating those Lucky Charms for breakfast.

I thought it was just me. I have the same problem...I eat healthy food, but I eat junk either right before or right after too. Guess I better get used to my turkey waddle arms flapping in the wind when I wave. (What a lovely mental image, huh?)

You are awesome Amy!! Send some of your cleaning vibes my way, please!!
