No More Diapers for Ian!!! (or Mom either, for that matter)

It is official! Ian is potty trained and it only took a week! Now, the first 3 days were a nightmare because he had never, ever gone in the potty. So, being the mother of 4 that I am, I used the same trick that worked for Riley only 10 years ago - feet in a nice warm bowl of water. It works every time! I was worried that I would be carrying that bowl with me everywhere we went for the next few years, but after a few days he could do it without. However, one bad side-effect of the warm water trick is that poor Alec has to jump out of the tub now everytime Ian "tinkles" in the water. Despite that, he has been going for longer periods of time with dry "undies". PRESCHOOL HERE WE COME! I'll be sure to let you all know when he successfully does a #2 in the potty! It has been very entertaining at our house when he does this in his pants or even (heaven forbid) on the floor - thanks to our kids being raised by Jeff Day - bathroom talk is ALWAYS good for a laugh!
