some nubbins.

I love how Jeff Norman calls the stuff that's left over in a casserole
dish or on a dinner plate the "nubbins".
I always think of him as I wash the nubbins down
the sink or pop some nubbins into my mouth!

In honor of his inventive word,
here are some nubbins of daily life at our house
that I've been meaning to post for a while:

The girls wake up at 4:45 on weekdays and they are off to
seminary by 5:40.
Aren't they cute & rarin' to go???
(notice their driver in the background?)

The boys don't wake up until around 8:00.
We eat breakfast together and walk down to the bus stop
with Libby on a leash.
(This pic is the 1st day of school...so GREEN compared
to the WHITE outside now!)

BUS STOP!!!

And speaking of school....

Alec was voted as his classes rep for SSIT
(Student School Improvement Team).

He was super excited about this until he found out that
they meet every Tuesday during lunch recess.
WHAT??!!?
Recess is sacred to a 5th grade boy.

After some tears,
he decided to stick it out.
It was a lesson learned in responsibility.
...And he got this really cool T-Shirt!

And when it comes to school,
here is what Ian wrote during one of the first weeks:

Name one thing you like about our classroom: cids (kids)
What would you add to the classroom to make it better?: a tanil (a tunnel)

A tunnel isn't too much to ask, is it???

Sorry to double post ! Wanted to add my "nubbins" comment.

I saved the crock-pot nubbins from the T-Day stuffing in a plastic bag and doled them out to myself. If that isn't pathetic !

Love the updates on the nubbins of everyday life! Tell Alec soon enough it will be too cold to enjoy recess anyway, right?!?
