If you don't have this book yet, you need to get it for your Christmas collection.
It is called "A Christ Centered Christmas"
and each chapter focuses on one of the characters in the navitity set.
My mom and I, and a few of other ladies in our ward,
made 7 gifts for our families to be opened the weeks
before Christmas.
Each gift goes along with the chapters in the book - with scriptures to read
and activities to do as a family to help us
to remember to keep Christ at the center of our holiday this year.
we place that person into the nativity.
Our family did Mary last week and we did Joseph last night.
From Joseph,
we learn service and we are keeping a "service journal"
as we do kind things for others.
We also chose our "secret person" in our family to do good deeds
for. On Christmas Day we will reveal who we had!
Here is our new nativity set.So far we have Mary & Joseph, with a cow & donkey. :)
I LOVE this one...it's made of marbles.
A fun edition to our growing collection of nativities.

What a great idea! We've done the straw in the manger before, and I love how it makes us all stop and serve each other-- the best gift of all!
Wow - I literally got this same idea (from my brain) and wanted to do it for Andrew. I ended up not switching to a different idea (one borrowed from Ryan) because I couldn't find a decent nativity set to send to a boy that probably wouldn't appreciate how cute it was.
