Snowed In!

Once again, the snow dance worked and school was cancelled. It snowed
for a good 24 hours straight and we have about 8 inches out there.
Believe it or not, this was our first big storm this winter.

Of course, Jeff is out-of-town, but we are managing...
homemade waffles for breakfast, movies, shoveling, building tunnels in the snow.
Ya know, all those thing that we HATE to do.

I opted out of the "snow-blower" tutorial before he left,
so it really is my fault that I shoveled all of this myself!

Despite all of the snow removal, we've been lazy:
The girls slept in until 10:00, but the boys were up at 7:30 -
they didn't want to miss a minute of their free day off!

To celebrate our Snow Day,
I tried a new waffle recipe...and let's just say they were worth every calorie!
Separating the eggs & whipping the egg whites before putting them into the batter
was the "secret" and they hit the spot.

Since breakfast & lunch, the kids have been in & out all day long...
I'm running out of dry mittens!

I told the kids to dig to China...it's probably warmer there.

Holy workout shoveling all that snow Batman!! Hope you aren't sore tomorrow!!

We had a snow day here too...girls were up at the crack the same as your boys...wished I could've persuaded them to sleep a little longer. Surprisingly they got along really well all day long, I think because they were just so thrilled.

Post your waffle recipe to "Plenty to Eat"!!

Looks like fun. I will try not to show my kids as they miss that snow something awful!

All that "iron-pumping" at Lifetime is paying off, I see !

'Course, eating those waffles is probably contra-indicated, but one has to keep up one's strength, right ?

Nice work shoveling. That counts as several workouts. Apparently Scott didn't show up?

man, I'm impressed with your shoveling. That is no small task!!

Looks fun! And I want that waffle recipe, too! Mine always turn out so bland and flat. Does whipping the egg whites make them nice and fluffy?!
