DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!
This man thinks he is a professional.
HE. IS. NOT.
Cleaning out your gutters should be done by someone who knows what they are doing. Someone who has the proper equipment (note: broomstick). Someone who isn't afraid of heights. Someone who's wife is NOT HOME.
What we CAN'T show you is him hoisting
a ladder onto one of the peaks.
We can't show you him "pulleying" his blower up there
with a rope from his boat.
We cannot show you how he hopped from peak to peak like a lunatic.
That would be irresponsible.

We are just glad that he survived - that he came down safely to his wife and children, that he will be able to continue all that he has to accomplish here on this earth. The good news: He will be able to sleep soundly this winter...knowing that his gutters are free & clear of debris.

Yeah...that was pretty funny. But I did get the blower going and it was gail force hurricane time on the 3rd level! What's sad....all the leaves appear to be back today! Oh well...I do have to say....I LOVE THE FALL!
And now I hear on the Glenn Nagy (sp ?) show that while you are up there risking life and limb, you are also to be putting some kind of a ice deterent under the edges of the shingles from the gutters up 3 ft. to help stave off ice dams ! Otherwise you have to send your son-in-law up on the roof through the bedroom window with no proper shoes to take a broom stick and try to break up the frozen gutters, while listening to your daughter whimper !
Thank you Condo-land for these and other small blessings !
Jeff is quite the man!!! You guys have such funny stories to blog about...I wish we had gutters that Matt could risk life and limb for!!!
How old was Papa when he fell off the roof??? It's in his risky genes!
Next time hire a professional, Jeffrey!! Or at least tie a rope around your waist and the chimney...
:)
He makes danger look goooood! :)
Jeff - At Least learn how to climb. At least put Alex or Ian "on belay" for you at the bottom. Geesh.
You guys crack me up how you come up with such funny and clever ways to say things! I'm glad there were no injuries!!!
