Alec's cub scout den is participating in a food drive, so after school Alec had to collect food from our neighbors. After a quick snack, he put on his cub scout shirt, Ian revved up his tractor, and I threw on a coat and off we went! He collected quite a good amount of food and by the time we were done the back of Ian's tractor was full.
When we arrived home, Ian asked where we were taking all of the food?? Alec quickly informed him that it was all going to Africa. I corrected him (chuckle, chuckle) & we talked about "food banks" that were right here in our town, and that Alec's cub scout leaders were taking it there for families who didn't have enough money to buy food. Alec added that they would be hungry and die if they didn't have that food. Ian said, "Let's hurry and get it there before they DIE!!!"

The visual of Ian pulling that little tractor full of food for Africa just brings a tear to my eye!!

Once when we were gathering a paper sack full for the front porch p/up, Ryan said : " Do we have to give them all the good stuff ?"
