Happy Birthday to Alec!

Alec turned 9-years-old on Saturday and I keep loving him more & more each year. Our family wouldn't be the same without him! Alec can be quiet and thoughtful OR loud and silly. He puts others first - each week on library day he comes home with one book for him AND one book for Ian. He even spends his own money on family members at the school book fair. Alec is sensitive to other's feelings and goes out of his way to include everyone. Alec is adventurous and is always up to try something new. He is good at everything he tries. Alec is well-rounded, too - he plays sports but also is excited for chess club to begin at school and absolutely loves cub scouts, too. I can't believe he is already 9! He is a joy to us all.


His birthday started out with the best present of them all...a surprise phone call from his cousin, Gage, all the way from Arizona with a birthday wish and an invitation to play "Mario Kart" against him on the Wii. Who could say "no" to that? Not Alec! They played for at least an hour & 1/2 with the phone on "speaker" - Mel, can I contribute to that phone bill at the end of the month????

Next, we opened presents - Lego Rock Band for the Wii, a Klutz paper airplane book, and a photo collage of his football season - framed for his room.

Next we hopped in the car and drove an hour to Frankenmuth. We followed our noses to find the famous chicken dinner at Zehnder's!

After filling our tummies, we took a carriage ride & enjoyed the sights of this cute little town. We also hit the fudge shop and the kid's favorite toy shop. Bronner's was last and it was crazy there!

After Frankenmuth, we headed home for some birthday cake & ice cream. It was a happy day for everyone...WE LOVE YOU, ALEC!
