Looking Back...2008

  • What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? Amy: Ran a 5K & learned to Digi Scrap. Jeff: I broke a 4 hour marathon.
  • Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Amy: I didn't do to well in keeping mine, but I'm going to try again for daily scripture study. Jeff: Yes, consistant exercise.
  • Did anyone close to you give birth? Both: My sister Erin; Cole Joshua was born this year!
  • Did anyone close to you die? Both: Aunt Shirley.
  • What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? Amy: The desire to cook dinner. Jeff: More wake boarding.
  • What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Both: November 6th, Election Day.
  • What was your biggest achievement of the year? Amy: Getting through my 1st year as Primary President. Jeff: My promotion at work.
  • What was your biggest failure? Both: Pre-Paying for 2 separate boat slips w/o a refund! Ugh!
  • What was the best thing you bought? Amy: Our new suburban. Jeff: Rock Band 2.
  • Whose behavior merited celebration? Both: Ian for pooping on the potty...FINALLY!!
  • Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Libby...for getting into the Halloween candy, which turned into 4 BIG stains on Hannah's carpet.
  • Where did most of your money go? Both: Appliances.
  • What did you get really, really, really excited about? Amy: Arizona Trip in Feb. & Sister's Reunion. Jeff: Summer vacations - camping in Muskegon, Crystal Lake. Arizona trip, too.
  • What song will always remind you of 2008? Amy: Cold Play's Viva La Vita Jeff: Clocks (bohemian version)
  • What do you wish you'd done more of? Amy: Reading. Jeff: Wake Boarding.
  • What do you wish you'd done less of? Amy: Wasting so much time blog-stalking people I don't even know! Jeff: Watching TV.
  • How did you spend Christmas? Both: At our house, just us and the kids (& mononucleosis). It was suprisingly wonderful!
  • What was your favorite TV program? Amy: Lost. Jeff: The Office.
  • What was the best book you read this year? Amy: These is My Words (thanks Shauna!) Jeff: Wikinomics.
  • What was your greatest musical discovery? Amy: ABBA (Mama Mia). Jeff: Latin music.
  • What did you want and get? Amy: A new refrigerator, stove, washer & dryer. Jeff: Marathon goal time for under 4 hours! That was a big achievement for me personally. (Amy is feeling very shallow after Jeff's answer.)
  • What was your favorite film of this year? Amy: Dan in Real Life & Twilight (I know, I know...me and millions of 14-year-old girls). Jeff: Madagascar 2
  • What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Amy: Girl's piano recital in the morning, a hair appt. in the afternoon, and out-to-eat w/ cake at home (37). Jeff: A surprise party (just Amy & the kids) after returning home from a business trip (39).
  • How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? Amy: Comfortable - I would wear my chocolate brown Gap sweatpants & a t-shirt everyday if I could! Jeff: Non-existent or clothes that fit.
  • What kept you sane? Amy: Early bedtime for the boys. Jeff: running.
  • Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Amy: I discovered how funny Steve Carell is! Jeff: Mitt Romney.
  • Who did you miss? Both: Gordon B. Hinckley
  • Who was the best new person (people) you met? Amy: Maria Samona. Jeff: work associates.
  • Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. Amy: Put your family first and everything else will fall into place. Jeff: Listen to Mario when he tells you to buy a gun:) ... they just went shooting today.
