Dear Mrs. Day,
Riley is a guitar prodigy. There we said it. No beating around the bush just getting straight to the point. She learned a sheet of music in about 45 minutes, and has never played guitar before. So in order to pursue this talent, Riley needs to be able to practice. Yet sadly she does not have a guitar. You hear her play piano beautifully and with some practice she could play guitar just as well. So, here are three reasons why you should buy Riley a guitar.
First, the cost. You will NOT have to pay for lessons. Ashley is teaching herself, and it is going quite well. All you have to do is buy a single teach yourself lesson book for her. So we're quite sure Riley could do just the same. Also, we will be able to assist her with guitar whenever needed. And guitars do not cost a ridiculous amount. At Milford Music I often see very nice guitars for about $150. So this wonderful talent will not empty your wallet.
Second, Riley will be able to continue playing piano easily. If you may recall Ashley plays piano as well as guitar, and she was able to pursue both talents without neglecting either. Riley will be able to get better at piano and guitar at the same time without diminishing in skill at either one. Also Ashley finds that playing guitar and piano and practicing on a regular basis an easy task.
Third, Riley shows a great passion for guitar. For the past three hours she has continually asked if we could "go play the guitars". We do not believe she could easily bore with this and it would make her very happy. In fact, she just ditched us to go into the basement and play the guitar. Also there are many songs that are more modern than piano songs that Riley knows and loves.
So in conclusion Riley would benefit in many ways by playing the guitar. Please get her one...now...go!

They make some good points. Not to mention maybe Riley could be the next Brooke on American Idol, she could play the guitar or piano while singing. Maybe she can learn to play piano with her toes then she could do all three at the same time...America's got Talent...here comes Riley!

What would we do without good friends taking up our causes? :) Briana has been wanting a guitar, too- but haven't seen any of her friends writing letters like this one. Go Riley!! Hope you get one! :)
