A break.

We dropped the girls off at Camp Copneconic yesterday after church for a week's stay. It's something they do every year and were so excited to go. Riley went with her friend, Audrey, and Hannah went with Jackie, Audrey's little sister. I have no pictures to post of their departure, since I was a bad mom who didn't bring her camera. But, I'll let my words paint the picture for you...

Little cabins, lake with sandy beach, lots of trees, kids running amok, sleeping bags and laundry bags, flashlights, bug spray, and smiles on their faces (except for Riley's when we left, she looked like she was about to cry).

Alec went today, to the same place, for day camp and he didn't even look back to say goodbye! His goal is to get the "most adventurous" award like he did last year, which pretty much means that he tried anything and everything offered at camp...canoeing, fishing, frog hunting, archery, tubing, "creak freak" zip line, low ropes course, hiking, climbing tower, tree tops challenge course, petting farm, sailing, kayaking, and swimming. Phew! I think he'll sleep well this week.

So I will enjoy my break and the kids will enjoy their's. And Ian, well, he'll have free reign of the house and all of mom's attention. If you hear me yelling, "Hannah, where are you???!!!" that means that Ian is sick of me and I have run out of ideas to keep him entertained and happy. Wish me luck.

Sounds like a lovely break. Now you just need to find a camp that will take almost 4 year olds!

Was Riley able to take her "gee-tar" or was that the reason for her tears ?

Freedom!! At least you have Jeff and Ian to keep you company. My house is empty and I feel like Riley did when you dropped her off. Not really, but it's weird not having all the noise and busy-ness. Enjoy it!!

How fun - is it like Camp Rock?
