Spring is in the air today...it is 53 degrees and sunny. The snow is melting and the breeze is warm. Spring is so close I can smell it!
After lunch today, Ian and I went on a walk down to the mailboxes. He rode his big wheel and I walked Libby. It was so refreshing to be outside enjoying the warmth and fresh air. We collected the mail and instead of turning back towards home, we went a little further. We stopped at a gutter and could hear the water rushing down it's drain. Ian stopped, got off his bike, and started throwing rocks and dry leaves down into it through the bars. He was having so much fun. It was actually quite relaxing - the sound of the trickling water and watching him play like that.
It reminded me to stop and enjoy the little things. Sometimes I find that our family is just running and running and running, and we forget to enjoy the journey. So, in honor of warmer weather and grass that we can actually see, take some time to get outside and enjoy all of Heavenly Father's creations - one of the simpler things in life.

amen to that!!! I opened the windows in my house a crack yesterday and let the fresh air in...it felt soooo good and made me so happy! I felt like I could actually breathe for the first time in months!
Did you take that picture ? It is wonderful, and says the 1000 words !
Can't take credit for the picture...but looking out my window, it could have come from any one of our pine trees.
I know what you mean...last week there were a couple of days I could actually imagine Spring coming and the snow finally melting. I let the girls take the tags off the new Spring jackets and play outside for a bit too. I hope the real Spring is here soon!!
