Gratitude Experiment: Day #6

Today I am thankful for the gospel
and for the opportunities it gives us to serve
and grow from doing so.

I watched Alec graduate from Primary today
and receive the Priesthood and be ordained a Deacon.
Like the day he was baptized & confirmed,
this is an important milestone & step that he is
taking that leads him back to Heavenly Father.
These small steps will help him grow.

Jeff asked him to share his favorite Article of Faith in
Sacrament Meeting today, as he does to all of the kids when they turn 12.
Alec chose #7 - one of the shorter ones
but with lots of big words -
Jeff said, "That's the one I would have chosen, too!"
It made the whole congregation chuckle.  :)

Today was a big day for Riley, too.
She received her Young Womanhood Recognition Award -
the equivalent to an Eagle Scout Award but for girls.
She has been working on this since
she was 12 - making goals, completing seven 10-hr projects,
and recording what she has learned.

Jeff asked her to share her testimony and she
did a beautiful job.  I'm so proud of her
and all of her accomplishments!
Another small step that will help her grow.

And I have some news myself!
I got another calling.  A stake one.
To go along with my ward one  (that one won't go away!).
And this will definitely stretch me, in a good way though...

I am the new Stake Girl's Camp Director!
My feelings right now:
overwhelmed
scared
anxious

But, I think I'm crazy enough for the job!
What do you think?
