Girls Camp 2012

(just a handful of girls from our ward at camp - we had 22 there.
I love these cute girls so much!!)
Last week marked my "return to YW camp" after 13 years!
I was elated to be asked to go as a leader this year,
especially since both Riley & Hannah would be there -
Riley as a 2nd-year YCL and Hannah as a 3rd year.

Camp was in Brighton and we had beautiful weather all week,
despite the almost 100 degree + humidity temps.

 "Arise and Shine Forth"

We lit over 50 paper lanterns one night on the beach
and let them off into the night sky.

It was so beautiful and such a clear demonstration
of this year's theme for the youth.

The theme for camp was "Go for the Gold" and all of the girls were
divided into countries.  I was the leader for Kenya
and this is the only picture of my group I got!
(We were painting our faces for skit night...)

Riley, Haley, Katherine & Lydia - all of these girls have been together
at camp for the last 6 years.
They were AWESOME YCL's - so helpful and such good examples
 to the younger girls.

These two got into trouble because they kept trying
to be together when they weren't supposed to.  Darn kids.

Just like at home, Hannah made me laugh all week.
She & Madi were trying to earn the a "music bead" for their
camp necklace.  To do that, they had to sing 100 songs over the course of the week.

They picked the 2 shortest songs in the camp songbook and sang those
over & over & over again.
Silly girls.

Riley was a "Music YCL" and carried
her ukulele around camp all week.
She was in heaven!!
Here is a video that the stake president took of her.  :)

LOVE IT! LOVE GIRL'S CAMP! I took a one year hiatus and will be back at camp again this year and cannot wait.

Oh, and my new calling - YW president. Why aren't you here to be my counselor? I always thought we'd be in YW together...

Is there anything like Girl's Camp ? More fun than a hill of beans ! (And just wattheheckdoesthatmean ?)

I l.o.v.e.d camp as a girl, as as a Youth counselor, as an adult counselor, as Ward and Stk YW Pres. and in my final year at Camp won the "Oldest Girl at Camp" and as my prize got to go through the dinner line first every night !

could Riley be any cuter?! That girl is going places. I absolutely love her voice. And your girls camp looks amazing! I love Hannah and her "sneaking around". Hilarious. I must admit, I am going in a few weeks and have butterflys. Eeeek!

Girls Camp is the best! Riley, I love your song and the way you sing it. Hannah, you are so cute and always laughing.

I spent many a summer at Girls Camp in the "olden days." It still looks the same and I am sure it is just as much FUN!
