Every July, my friend, Celeste, has a party. A Christmas party.
Complete with decorated Christmas trees,
a holiday treat food spread, and Christmas music.
This year was no different.
She invites 11 friends and we bring the supplies to make 11 cards
that we designed. We set up our "station" when we get there and
then we rotate through each station.
By the end of the night, we have each made 11 cards and, including our own card,
go home with 12 Christmas cards.
It's such a fun night and I look forward to it every year.
Here's the cards we made this year -
on July 25th!
And since tomorrow is August 1st,
I'm "cleaning out the camera card", as Linda says. :)
The boys had their piano recital on June 16th.
They just started lessons in April,
but each had a song prepared.
I hope they continue to love it as much as they do right now!
Yes, I'm still the cub scout den leader!
And, yes, I was able to attend the second of three days of day camp
on July 17th.
The fun part was that Ian is now a cub scout and
got to go for his first year.
The not-so-fun-part was that it was HOT and HUMID the whole week -
temps were in the low 100's!
In fact, the last day was cancelled because of thunderstorms.
Alec came and helped this year and assisted in running
the "water games" station -
his wet shirt is water not sweat. Eeww.
And Ian is holding up the "bug sucker" he made
to trap little critters in.
Of course, the favorite part of camp every year
is BB gun shooting. Ian was a natural!
Double-Date Night with Scott & Leslie!
We won tickets to the Tigers Game at the ward's Silent Auction
and it just so happened that the game was at 7:00 pm on July 18th -
the night before we went to Cedar Point and
after a full day of cub scouts playing at my house because camp was rained out.
I was TIRED but we, of course, had fun anyway.
Our seats were right behind 1st base and we enjoyed the game while we
munched on Kielbasa's & nachos. Yum!
After the game we went to American Coney Island in downtown Detroit
for some more hot dogs...'nuf said.
Let's just say that the Millenium Force the next day
didn't sit well with me. Hee, hee.
And that's our July!
Stay tuned for pics from our Crystal Lake trip with the Pierson's!
