Not a Grinch

{he makes a very handsome Santa, doesn't he?}

Christmas is in full swing at the Day's.
We (okay, I) have been decorating the house for a WEEK,
which has been so much fun this year because it's our first Christmas in this house.

We picked out a new tree, a 9-footer, because our Costco tree from the
past 2 years started smoking and actually left a burn mark in our carpet. Scary!
We returned it and decided to take our wallets
to Lowe's this year.

We went to Bronner's on Saturday and picked our "2010" ornament...

Whenever I pull out the Christmas decorations, if feels like
I just put them away. But here we are again...December.

Last night, with hot chocolate in hand,
we watched the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional,
broadcast from the Conference Center in Salt Lake.
The music from the Tabernacle Choir was beautiful and the talks - inspirational.

I loved how President Uchtdorf used "The Grinch" as part of his talk,
and counseled us to ask ourselves, "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store.
Maybe Christmas is a little bit more."

We know that it is,
but it was a much needed reminder that our focus should be on the birth of the Savior.
He should be the center of Christmas in our homes
and all year round.
When we remember that, the "Grinch" in all of us disappears.

Beautiful!! I want to see all of your festive house, so feel free to post more pics. I love the ornament too, I miss Bronners!! We have such a hard time finding a family ornament each year without it!

We got our letter today from Santa #1. So, so cute. Tell him muchas gracias, and to look for a reply soon!

So-o-o lovely. I am anxious to drive over in the dark and see that tree framed in your window as we come round the bend !

It is also funny that we are going out today to see if we can find a 3 ft. tree to replace our old one which is too much to decorate w/o Maryn and Avery's help. (and Suzy, too, of course)

Time and its funny march !
