Storytelling

This afternoon, I had a special treat to accompany Grandma Day (Grandpa, too) to
Ian & Alec's classes and listen to her tell stories.

Ian's class was first (see the back of his head in the bottom right corner?).

He had his shirt on backwards when we got there. There was also
a little boy asleep on the floor, right in our path! (Gotta love all-day-kindy.)

Grandma told "Bracelets" and "Cheese & Peas & Chocolate Pudding".
Of course, they loved it, and even though Ian was being too shy to give Grandam a hug, he was so pleased she was there. When he got home from school, he told Hannah all about the 2 stories and how the little girl asked for "MORE!!!!" bracelets.

Alec's 3rd grade class was next. His teacher asked him if he wanted to come up to the front and sit with Grandma while she told stories - of course he did!

She told "Nanny Goat and the Seven Little Kids". And it was a hit!
She had them all in the palm of her hand, and when she was done they begged for another!

So she told them "Little Rooster and the Diamond Button."

After that, if it hadn't been time to go home,
I think the teacher AND the kids would have wanted...."MORE!!!!!"

I got a kick out of watching Alec react to Grandma's stories.

And I should have had my camera on the "sports" setting because I couldn't snap
the pics fast enough to get all of the goofy faces he was pulling
during her stories.

Here's some of my favorites:

When Alec got off the bus, he was grinning from ear to ear. He said
that all the kids want to be in his class next year so that they can hear
his grandma tell stories again....

Thank you, to the coolest Grandma in the 3rd grade!

Awesome pics!! Mom could use some of those in her "portfolio" and I was cracking up at some of Alec's expressions...too funny!! I remember feeling like a celebrity when Mom would tell stories as a kid too! So fun!

Thank You !

What a lucky boy Alec is to have Mr. Spring for his teacher ! It was so nice to see a person who enjoys his job despite the insuffient pay or praise for what he does !

I love the shot where Alec is rubbing his tummy. The line that goes there is : "Come my magic stomach. Spit out all the bees from the hive !" Alec could do it w/o me !
