Beauty Queen

Linda, this one's for you! I just couldn't leave this picture out from my Chicago trip...Kathy cracks me up!!! If you don't know Kathy and her sense of humor, you are certainly missing out. Everyone needs a friend like her.

A while back, Linda and I were seated in a temple session, sitting behind Kathy Utley. After the session, Linda whispered to me how every hair and curl was in place in the back of Kathy's head (we had a whole 2 hours to study it) ...this picture shows just how each hair is sculpted to perfection! Gotta love the beauty process...

Okay, so since I have already posted some embarrassing pictures of Kathy...here's some more. These are from stake pioneer trek last summer. One of the activities on the second to last day of the trek was hair washing. It was, to say the least, WONDERFUL! It was so hot that day and a bucket of cold water and bubbles hit the spot on our hot, smelly heads. Julie Leidich looks pretty funny here, too. Good thing they don't look at my blog.

This was the first day of the trek. Doesn't Kathy look fresh and ready to go?? Shortly after this picture was taken, we sat down for a ma and pa meeting. After a few minutes, someone commented that they smelled oregano. Oregano? Hmmm...I wonder. Oh, yeah, that was Kathy's organic mosquito repellent...oregano. What a crack up.

Here we are together, looking mighty fine. Jeff and I nick-named her Willie Nelson for the rest of the trek after her hair went flat :)! Looks like Kathy was whipping up something tasty for her pioneer brood. Cheers!
