What a crazy-busy schedule we had last week!
Jeff left Sunday night for Texas and didn't get home until Friday afternoon,
where he and the boys packed up and went to the Father/Son Campout.
In between Sunday & Friday while Jeff was gone,
he missed the girls' Theatre Banquet, Alec's last choir concert of the year,
and Riley's Senior Honor's Night. Boo.
Alec was so cute. On the way to his concert,
he was telling me how nervous he was that he'd forget
the choreography to "Footloose".
I told him to act like he knew what he was doing and
then the audience would think that everyone else was doing it wrong!
I was so proud of my girls at the theatre banquet.
They BOTH came home with awards.
The first ones were voted on by the other drama kids -
Hannah got "Supporting Actress of the Year" and
Riley got "Actress of the Year".
Riley also received quite a prestigious award -
"Theatre Department Key Award 2013".
Each department of the high school gives this award to one of their
senior students every year.
Riley was awarded the Theatre one.
Since their drama dept. is fairly new, she is the first EVER at Lakeland
to receive this award.
And her name will be on the plaque in the hallway forevermore.
We are so proud of her!
(the girls with Miss Miller, their director and drama coach)
Riley's Senior Honor's Night was also awesome.
She was recognized for the following accomplishments/awards:
Academic Excellence Award
President's Award for Educational Achievement
AP Scholar
National Honor Society
Theatre Dept. Key Award
Southern Virginia University Academic Scholarship
Utah State University Waiver Scholarship
Huron Valley Optimist Club Scholarship
I ended my week with little Eli and Alyssa
for a few hours while Leslie got her hair cut...
After our crazy week -
which also included 4 dentist appts, a trip to the vet, a VT
visit, popcorn popping at the elementary school, and a hair appt. for Riley -

it made me miss my days at home when my kids were little!
Life was a lot less complicated...
wish I would have known that back then.

Ditto! I miss the days where my to-do list was sitting on the deck with my neighbor & watching the kids play. Though I still have a foot in both worlds with little man Tate. It's even trickier to sit through awards ceremonies while keeping a 3 yr old entertained!!!
I already sent my HUGE CONGRATS to the girls via facebook, but what an AWESOME recognition night. Special congrats to the senior, Riley is such a natural leader & I am so proud of all of her accomplishments! How fun to have her name etched forevermore in at Lakeland High! I can't wait to see the great stuff ahead for Hannah & Alec. Love those two!
congrats to Riley! Awesome. End of the year stuff is so busy...but fun!!!
Riley looks so natural holding that award. I can almost hear her saying : "I'd like to thank my Mom and Dad for all their sacrifices over the years etc etc etc !"
And Hannah right behind her ... in two years we'll be seeing her receive her share of accolades, too.
And Alec will be well on his way to competing in"Dancing with the Stars" ! ;o)
