Tonight for Family Home Evening,
we took the kids to the mall to visit Santa.
The young college student who was "Santa's Helper"
said that the line on Saturday was 4 1/2 hours long!!
Those poor children!
We were feelin' pretty smart to go tonight instead.
After the boys whispered in Santa's ear
what they wanted, we treated ourselves to a Haagen Dazs ice cream cone
by the food court and found some comfy chairs to enjoy it in.
And then we did what Day's do best - people watched.
Our code word for serial killers was "Cheerios"
and our code word for look-at-that-weird-specimen-of-a-person was
"Check out the Tapper's Gold Store."
I haven't laughed that hard in a while...
the guy who worked in Tapper's looked like the Hobbit
counting his gold coins.
Seriously, the poor man didn't know that he was
the source of our entertainment for the evening.
I'm sure he's a nice man. We're sorry.
And in other news...
My mom and I recently spent the day together
making the kid's Christmas pillowcases.
This is our 3rd year in a row doing this and has become a tradition.
All of the grandkids get 1 - 4 boys, 4 girls.
We turned on a corny Lifetime Christmas movie
and got busy!!
