In August, we decided that it would be best for our family
that Alec take a break from football.
It was a hard decision - more for me because of the 4 years we
gave to it - but Alec didn't care either way.
It cleared up our Tuesday night dilemma of how we would get
Alec home from practice while we were all
at the church for scouts & YW.
And it also freed up our evenings in August,
which meant more family time and more nights on the lake
instead of on the football field watching him practice.
Once school started, he decided that he wanted to give
the cross country team a try.
The first few weeks he was sore, especially his knees & ankles.
But he didn't give up or quit and I'm so proud of him for doing
something hard and seeing it through!
(His first race)
He's not the fastest kid on the team,
but he loves it and has been a great form of exercise, too.
What's nice about middle school cross country is that the 6th graders run a mile
at the meets. And we only have to stay for the 9 minutes that it takes
him to run!
So much better than a whole Saturday of football!!

I love Cross Country! I'm so glad Mitch ran in jr high and then decided to pick it back up for his sr year (actually I wish he'd run the whole time, but I'll take what I can get).
Run fast Alec!

Wish I could ... but I am loving the H2C pg. on my calendar this mo.
