a winner.

Alec is always winning everything.

Last spring, at Hannah's choir concert, he won $145 in the 50/50 drawing.
And yesterday, he won a Dodge baseball cap and a Nascar model car,
"valued at $99" at the school's Fun Run assembly.
To say he was excited was an UNDER statement!

Someday that kid is going to win the lottery. And I'M his mom!!!!

And just to make you feel even better,
this is where I was sitting exactly 1 month ago.

In Cabo, Mexico...with my cute purple toes and the
help there calling me "Seniorita."

Here's Kellie and I the morning after we arrived,
with no luggage yet. We bought these awesome shirts at the Mega (their WalMart)
to go with our "just got outta bed look".

The view of the Sea of Cortez from our condo's deck!

My 5 days there consisted of: wake-up, eat breakfast, go for a run in the workout room OR a walk on the beach, put on my swimsuit, sit at the pool, drink a virgin pina colada,
go back to the room, shower & clean-up, go out to dinner,
watch some TV back in the room.
Next day: Start all over! It was just what I needed!

A walk on the beach before sunset. So gorgeous!

Waiting for our taxi cab to take us out to dinner.

Our last day...

Between last February and this Mexico trip,
here's where' I've been:

February: Chicago
April: Florida
May: Europe
June: Chicago
July: New Mexico, Cincinnati, Up-North
August: Portland, Muskegon
September: Mexico

Yow-zers!! My excuse is that I just turned 40,
but I could get used to this. :)

I've always thought Alec was a winner ! $147 in the 50/50 ? I'm playing at the Girl's Play this year for sure ! I didn't know the stakes were that high ... ;o)

Only place missing on that list is a little escape to Arizona. You're probably through with travel this year, but there's always next year!

LOVE your blog Amy! Hannah's essay is wonderful! She is a great writer. Alec is a winner for sure! (Don't forget your "grandmama!" Ian's carved pumpkin is the best I have seen! Riley's role in "Shakespear Abridged" was done perfectly! She put a lot of emotion and heart into her acting and lines! What a great family . . . and your mine! :)
