"Camp" is the word around here this week:
Cub Scout Day Camp, Girl's Camp, Philmont.
All 3 are on the calendar this week.
The packing lists are flying and so are the rain ponchos,
bug spray, and sleeping bags.
Someone dig me out of this mess! My head is spinning....

This is all happening on the heels of the Stake Pioneer Trek last week.
Riley & Jeff pulled a handcart (among other things) for 4 days with about 150 other youth
and came back with a better appreciation
for the sacrifice the early pioneers made.
They also came back dirty & smelly.

I l.o.v.e.d Trekking ! Claire and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn, ate brkfst there, and then joined the push/pullers mid morning where we had a variety of teaching assignments. My fav. was the cold water hair wash ! followed by an apple at lunch w/the the kids, took our little journals to write up the morning "greater lessons" where" we found sack lunches provided by a couple of angels, I guess, w/ peanut butter sandwiches and Red Roof jelly pkts !
The pictures of trek looked miserable and awesome all at the same time.
Still totally jealous of your trip to Philmont. Can't wait to see the blog post about that.
Mike dropped Haley off for girl's camp this morning. I couldn't bear to watch those buses pull away and not be on them.
Hoping the other camping experiences are much less WET than trek!! I loved Riley's fb status about trek though-- "life changing"-- love that it gives such a great perspective on what to be grateful for!
Enjoy all the upcoming camps!!!
