Spring Break - Day 5 at Kennedy Space Center

Both of the boys are really into rockets and airplanes right now
and even Alec tells us that he'd like to be an Air Force Pilot someday...
so this was the perfect place to visit on our trip.
(Ian told me today that he wants to be a "worker" when he grows up.)

Highlights of the park were the space shuttle launch simulation ride...

and
seeing the actual space shuttle on the launch pad
ready for a launch a few weeks later.

We rode a bus to view the launch pad and to see
a huge exhibit highlighting the Apollo years...

The rocket was HUGE!
See it hanging above all the people???

We even got to touch a real moon rock!

But if you ask Jeff,
the coolest thing was seeing the actual
control room used for all of the Apollo missions -
including Apollo 13.

We had two very happy boys after a day of spacemen
and spaceships!

We loaded into the car and started our trek back up north -
going up I-95 instead of I-75 this time
through Savannah, GA, South Carolina, and Virgina.
