Full.

Today as I began to cook our Sunday dinner,
our phone rang. It was my mom trying to pawn off some more food on
me & my hungry family.

Since Mario has been home from the hospital,
they have been receiving meals almost every night.
And these aren't just meals for 2 -
they have received a whole pot roast,
a crock-pot full of chicken soup, a large lasagna,
a Costco chicken pot pie, a huge Mexican casserole,
all accompanied by desserts and side dishes galore!

I think my mom is receiving all her blessings at once
for the dozens of meals she has taken
to someone who just had a baby, had a death in the family, etc.

What they don't realize is that Mario is hardly eating a thing
and my mom is just 1 person.
So each night my mom calls in the troops -
Jeff & I, our kids, Scott & Leslie, and their kids.
We've done a pretty good job at tackling all that food!

Tonight, after my mom called, Riley & I drove over to her house,
picked up a platter fit for 12 (at least),
brought it home,
and tried to conquer a 20 lb. turkey complete with all the fixin's...
lunches will be covered for the rest of the week!

We feel so loved. And full.

A 20 lb. turkey for two?!? That is some serious lovin' coming from the Walled Lake Ward!! I am sure there are plenty more blessings waiting to be re-paid to both your parents...they have always been there for everyone else. Isn't it nice to see though?

The RS sure knows how to do it up right!! Amy, I was so sorry to hear of Mario´s health problems. I hope he is on the mend quickly and back to his old self soon. Thinking of you guys and your 20lb turkey! Love ya!

"visions of turkey sandwiches dancing in his head" ROFL!!!

Full is exactly the right word for the kindnesses extended by the WLW. They are an amazing ward family, and above and beyond is exactly how they roll.

Our love and prayers are still with Mario while he recupes. Hugs to you all!

I love those WLW women! They really do rock. Of course they've been led by your mom who is an awesome example of charity and kindness.

Here's to hoping that Mario will be able to chow down soon!

Amy,
After taking my 3rd dinner to the needy this week following an "I'm sorry I can't take anything this time" response, I am totally jealous of the wonderful caring and sharing nature of your ward.
Do you think you could put that turkey on a UPS truck and send it my way?
