Ten on Tuesday

My old neighbor & friend, Danielle, has the cutest kids and cutest blog to chronicle all their goings-on. She is a very talented photographer, as well. Anyway, she does "Ten on Tuesday" on her blog each week...and I'm totally copying her idea.
(Hope you don't mind, Danielle!!)

I always look forward to hearing about the little things that her family is up to,
and now I look forward to writing about the "everyday" things in our family
that I don't want to forget.

1. We have been carpooling to seminary this year with the Gantt's and it is a dream! We pick up Briana and take the girls to seminary, and then the Gantt's pick them up when they are done and take them to school. No more waiting/sleeping in the car! Instead of one & a half hours each morning of shuttling Riley, we are there & back in 30 minutes. So great!

2. Jeff has been the announcer at Alec's home football games this year. I always thought he should have gone into broadcasting because he's really good at it. He has music, etc., and we get in our 6 hours of volunteer time in a snap! No more concession stand for me folks!

3. The VacuFlo man came today to tune-up our central vac system. I bought the dog brush attachment and I am a happy vacuum-addict!

4. We had my parents & Scott and Leslie over for dinner last night. Jeff made his famous spaghetti sauce. Alyssa is the cutest thing ever and she is in LOVE with Alec. She follows him around, gives him hugs (which every 9-year-old boys adores), and she wants to sit on his lap. She just plops down right on top of him! Alec thinks it's funny and is a very good sport to his sweet little cousin.

5. Ian's feet and legs always have bandaids on them because he won't wear anything but flip-flops on his feet to play outside. When he falls on his scooter or bike, the first thing that gets a scrape are his feet and legs. What makes this complicated is that he won't take the bandaids off and he doesn't want to get them wet. So most nights he takes a shower in my bathroom and we use the "magic" shower head that detaches from the wall and I can spray him down like I do Libby - all while keeping his many bandaids safe & dry.

6. Alec keeps a tin of Altoids in his suit coat at church just like Papa does.

7. Riley is taking AP English and History this year and absolutely loves it! She thrives under pressure and likes a challenge, so this has been so good for her. She says her class is full of nerds who also like to talk about books...she's in heaven!

8. I got a new cell phone, an Android, and now I am "mobile". I can do email, facebook, and even do my blog from my phone. It also has maps to get me where I need to be without getting lost or calling my tech-support (Jeff) to help me when I'm in a bind!

9. Hannah missed the bus this morning...but her hair and make-up sure looked good. :)

10. I'm reading "Ramona the Pest" to the boys each night before bed and this book is a crack up! I remember reading it as a kid, but it's soooo much funnier as an adult. Ramona sings the "Dawner" song each morning at kindergarten..."Oh, say, can you see? By the DAWNZER lee light!" And did you see the Ramona movie...very cute and even made me cry when her cat died.

We got back from our Tonica Trip last night and I am catching up on your very fun, almost everyday, Blog ! It can be a painless journal !

We, too, thought Jeff should go into Radio/TV ! Can't you just see him being the Price is Right guy ? Or the next Tom Bergeron ? Watta natural !

What a fun idea!

yay for early-morning carpools and
I wish I could hear Jeff announcing (and Alec playing)-- and yay for no more nachos! Did it bring back happy cougareat memories?

Hugs to the band-aid boy, Alyssa's bff, the busy high schooler, and the girl who missed the bus!
