I finally have a few moments to sit down write about my "alone" trip to Utah!
My parents and I arrived late Thursday night & we stayed the weekend with Jeff & Amanda.
They are always such gracious hosts and
so much fun to be with!
Here are Andrew & Callie beating me in Rummikub.
A little before lunchtime on Friday morning, we headed over to Grammy & Pop-Pop's condo
to visit and then onto their ward building to decorate for the big birthday party that evening.
We made favors for all of the guests - cute little boxes full of Grammy's favorite...
Hershey's Kisses!
The "men" were in charge of the centerpieces and executing the "manly"
wiring of the twinkly lights inside each one.
Tables and chairs were set up for 100 people!
We did manage to have some fun...and Jeff, during a sound check, turned on the music of "The Brave Little Jazz Band" (remember that???) and I caught Grammy & Pop-Pop dancing
and in their own little world. So cute.
By the end of the afternoon, we took a break to freshen up...and admire the beautiful work
we had done!
You can't have a "Michels" party without some M&M's!
At 6:00, Teresa arrived with the food and we began to prepare for all of the guests to arrive at 6:30. It was so fun to have everyone together and to see Grammy & Pop-Pop so happy.

We had a spaghetti dinner, a toast to the guests of honor, birthday cake,
a song written & sung by Jeff - along with Natalie, Steven, and Eric - who also put together
a slide show of Grammy & Pop-Pop through the years.
At the end of the night, we were pooped!
The next day was Saturday, which was spent at Gardner Village & Deseret Book.
We also ate dinner at Steve & Teresa's and went to a late movie after.
Sunday, I went to church with Jeff & Amanda and tagged along with Jeff to Primary...
to steal any ideas and listen to his mad skills on the piano
(he's organist & primary pianist in his ward....how did he get so lucky???)
It was a memorable trip and I'm so glad I was able to go.
I can't believe that Grammy & Pop-Pop are 90-years-old. They are an inspiration to me...
Pop-Pop is the wolf cub scout den leader in his ward. Can you believe that?!?!
And they both still work at the church employment office as missionaries.
So many can't do nearly that much at that age...
they are so special and I love them dearly.

Grammy and Pop Pop look just how I remember them! How cute that they were dancing. Awwwww.
Some people can't do that much when they are 20 yrs. younger !
Also, Scott looks a lot like Uncle Bill and I always have thought he looked like Ed. And Jeff ... well, hello Michels Man !
Cute decor ! Wish there had been a shot of Grammy opening the quilt !
