by Alec Day

Alec keeps a journal at school & in it he has to answer questions posed by his teacher. Each week, it is sent home and, many times, his answers have me cracking up! Here's 2 of my recent favorites.

Keep in mind: Alec likes to make things up...he really has a fascinating & adventurous life inside of his head!

QUESTION: What can you do to not waste food? Why should you not waste food?

ALEC'S ANSWER: I think that we should not waste food because some people in Africa would die for food. So don't waste food. You could send food to Africa - the food that you don't like.

QUESTION: Have you ever been to a national park?

ALEC'S ANSWER: I have been to one before. It is in Utah. It is called Bryce Canyon. It goes so, so high. I think it goes 5,000 feet high. But the climb is great. There are flowers, streams and trees. Sometimes there are even mountain lions! I tried to touch a snake. IT JUMPED RIGHT ON MY FACE! I was so mad at that snake. But I still like the canyon.

(He's never been to Bryce Canyon! This sounds more like
our hike up Timpanogos last summer...
embellished, of course.)

that is awesome! I love that the snake jumped on his face and he lived to tell the tale!

he's got Grandma Day's "storytelling" abilities! Way to jazz it up with a snake jumping on your face!!

Too cute.

Papa always said : "If you can't improve on the story, why tell it ?"

Speaking of snakes ... Melanie ? Did you get a picture of Hallie w/one wound round her neck at the ball park ? We have one, but don't know how to upload !

I didn't! You have to post it! Call me and maybe I can talk you through it?
