Playing Hookie

To say that we have been "busy" lately is an understatement. We are on "overload". Here's a glimpse into our weekly schedule since the end of March:

Mondays - H, swim practice 5:30-6:30 @ Lakeland High School
- A, baseball game 6:30-8:00 @ Milford B-Ball fields (right behind the YMCA)

Tuesdays -R, Young Women - H, Activity Days - A, Cub Scouts 7:00 @ church

Wednesdays - H, swim practice 5:30-6:30
- A, baseball game 6:30-8:00

Thursdays - R&H, piano lessons 5:00-6:00 in Milford
- I, soccer practice 5:30-6:30 @ Commerce Elementary

Fridays - REGROUP!!!

Saturdays - I, soccer game @ Sarah Banks Middle School (time varies)

You take all this and mix in doctor, dentist & ortho appointments, church responsibilities and meetings, Jeff's running and softball, baby showers, swim meets, pampered chef parties, end-of-school year programs and recitals, etc. and it is bound to leave a person with a nervous tick!

So....yesterday Jeff and I, along with Alec and Ian, took a vacation from our problems! We let Alec skip school (shh! don't tell!) and we went to a 1:00 Tiger's game downtown. It was an absolutley beautiful day to be at a ball game. We ate hot dogs, lemonade freezes, and enjoyed a day away from "the schedule"! Here's some pics of the fun...

The Tigers played the Texas Rangers and won! Even though the pictures don't show it because we got there so early, it was a packed stadium (must be all the people laid-off with nothing better to do on a Thursday afternoon)! We had great seats, right on the 1st base line, so Alec got to witness their super-skills up close. All in all, it was a great day and, along with the holiday weekend coming up, I'm feeling rejuvenated. It was time well spent, for sure.

How fun! Those pics made me a little homesick for the D! And you're probably right about all of those laid-off workers too.
