It all seems to all have happened so quickly...wasn't I just feeding a baby in the highchair or changing a diaper or rushing home before they fell asleep in the car? Or how about "policing" the precious nap being taken upstairs? I've done this for 4 children but it all seems a blur and I don't want to forget how much I really did enjoy the chaos that has been my house for the last 14 years.
I watch Scott and Leslie just starting out with 2 little ones and sometimes I wish I could relive that time in my life again. Even just for a day. I'd take each one of my babies and smell their little necks, kiss their forheads and rock them to sleep.
So, for now I am going to enjoy each day I have left with Ian at home. He graduates from preschool next Wednesday night and I'll be packing some tissues in my purse! I love being a Mom and I hope that I love the next phase in my life just as much as I have enjoyed this one.

You made me cry. It's all so true. Sometimes amoung the chaos we forget to cheris little moments, they really do go too fast. Hayden is off to all day pre-school in the fall, so it will just be Halle here (and the new baby I watch). I guess I have a few more years of loving this stage. Thank Heavens, I'm not ready for the next.
I totally hear you. I taught preschool today and felt a little jealous of those moms with little one at home - shopping, lifetime, costco all with a cute buddy. I really hate that my baby will be in 3rd grade in the fall.
awwww. That's so sweet. If you ever want to re-live...come on over, baby!! Mine are all yours! :)
Oh, this makes me so sad!! And yet, THANK YOU for reminding me to take advantage of every second I have raising Isaac and future kids to come. Funny, we do some of those same things...lunch at Costco is one of Isaac's favs, as well as time at the playroom at the YMCA. :O)
What swell timing, Ling-Ling ! Just a few days before Mother's Day you are totally making us see clearly how really inspiring it is to be a Mother ! Thanks !
(But, word of caution ... "grandmothering" is even more wonderful ! )
I think congratulations and celebration are in order!! You deserve it after 14 years of being a SAHM. What's the first thing you're going to do after you drop him off at kindergarten in the Fall? Just think of the possibilities!!!
