Road Trip

We leave tomorrow for our spring break road trip! I'm actually really looking forward to the drive...no worries, no hurry, just our family and the open road. We are going to Orlando (us and the rest of the world) for spring break. We'll do Disneyworld for 3 days and then drive to Clearwater which is right on the Gulf of Mexico. We'll stay there for 3 days at a resort. We plan on doing absolutely nothing during those 3 days except sit by water (pool or beach) and watch the kids play.

Here's a picture of us last time we went - 2 years ago.

So, I've just got a couple things to do before we leave tomorrow morning at 8 am sharp!
  • make cookies for the drive
  • meet with Briana (Pet Sitter) to give instructions for Libby (stricken with heartworm) and the scary hamsters in the basement.
  • Wal-Mart - goodies for the car
  • Old Navy - one more pair of shorts for Hannah
  • Pack the boy's suitcases & my own
  • Mail letters & stop mail
  • Library - have Ian pick out some "Books on tape" for the car ride & DVD's, too.
  • Bridal shower present for Camee Anderson & bridal shower at 7:00 tonight!
  • And, most importantly, I must clean my house so that when the burglars come they'll see what a good housekeeper I am.
Oh...I have to do all this with a sick 4-yr-old in tote. He woke up with a fever Tuesday, the doctor said it was strep, but today is Thursday and he still has a high fever. Either the antibiotics aren't working or it was a false positive for strep - which is really bad news because if anyone else gets it on our trip, they'll have to let it run it's course without a magical antibiotic to get them better! Ugh!
  • Trip to the pediatrician...again.

Hoping you have a "sickness-free" trip !

I know what you are saying about the clean house (although my rationale was not for the burglars ... but for my own return to a stress-free house. I once paid a friend to come in and clean after we left !) as coming home to a 2 wk old mess is not fun !
