April in Review - Part 1

This is going to be a long one!

April seemed to get away from us, so I thought I would share some highlights. First, Riley turned 14-years-old on Friday, April 3rd and we celebrated by letting her skip school & start Spring Break a day earlier than everyone else. We got up early and began our 2-day trek down to Orlando. She got an I-Pod Touch, which kept her busy & happy on our road trip.

Our first night on the road, we stayed in Knoxville, TN. Alec slept on the floor, Ian in a chair (hee, hee) and everyone else got a bed. Ian looked so cute cozied up in the little chair.

We arrived in Florida the next day, after 2 pit stops to eat at "Pizza Palace" in Knoxville, TN and "Gladys Knights Chicken & Waffles" in Atlanta. Jeff's obsession with Drive-Ins, Diners, & Dives is going to become my downfall!

Our first day in Orlando was spent at Typhoon Lagoon. It was sunny & 90 degrees, and pretty much cured our winter blues within the first 15 minutes.

Jeff, Riley and Alec survived their swim with sharks, and the boys got really good at burying our feet in the sand.

We spent the next 2 days at Magic Kingdom and Epcot, with the rest of the world. It was packed, but we managed to do everything that we wanted to. We got to Magic Kingdom at 8:00 am and stayed until just before midnight. We saw the parade & fireworks and it got so cold that we had to buy five $50 sweatshirts!

We picked up a couple of pirates on Pirates of the Carribean.

Ian is adorable in his little sleeping bag and it sounds like the rest of your trip was a blast! I envy the "eat's" at all those diner's...yummy! :)

Glad you guys are back safe and sound. Happy Birthday, Riley!

That "back seat" pix of H & A looks a little like the Clampett's truck ! I was looking for Granny on the top of the Suburban in her rocking chair ! Hee Haw !

Envy the feet in the surf !

Hooray for Disneyworld and Florida!

Hooray for teenagers more occupied with ipods than with teasing their siblings in the car!

Hooray for vacations!

Love it!! Glad you had fun. We just planned a family vacation (with Aaron's parents and siblings) to Disneyland next year.
