Tuesday Mornings

Every Tuesday morning, Ian and I get the kids off to school. We do a little laundry & then get cleaned up. At 10:00 sharp, we leave the house and head over to Leo's Coney Island. We meet Luke Butler (a preschool friend) & his Mom for breakfast. I always get 2 eggs over medium, hashbrowns & bacon. Ian gets a Mickey Mouse pancake & sausage links.

Ian and Luke have been preschool friends for the past 3 years. They were in parent-tot class together, the 3-yr-old class, and now in the 4-yr-old class together.

After we fill their little tummies with syrup & sausage, we go to soccer. Ian & Luke run around the soccer field for 45 minutes, while Kathy (Luke's mom) and I sit and chat, talk about books we've read, and exchange horror stories about both of our 8th and 6th graders.

We have been doing this for the past 8 weeks and I love it. Tuesday mornings are wonderful! Today was their last day of soccer and we've decided that we will all go to lunch on Mondays right after preschool to take the place of our Tuesday morning ritual.

Here's some footage of Ian in action!

That's so fun. You know how neurotic I am about working out - skipping the morning workout and then eating sausage, etc. I'd have to spend 2 hours at the gym every Tuesday afternoon to compensate.

You are doing a good job of "warming" Kathy and Luke for the Gospel !

And there ain't nothin' like Leo's hash browns and their lemon-rice soup. It is my cure-all !

It's funny you mention the church because yesterday Ian asked me what church Luke went to. I told him he was Catholic and goes to a different church. He didn't answer me for a minute, so I asked him if he was sad about that. He said, "If Luke went to our church he'd be in my class."

I'm workin' on it...slowly.

Look out David Beckham!! Ian's got skills!

What a fun way to start the day, too. Keep being who you are, and you can't help but be a great example of the gospel to them. :)

What fun! I love having set things to do. It make the day go by quickly and give us something to look forward to.
