Well Mel -- happiest of B-day's to you! I thought I'd add to the stories already posted on everyone else's blog. I decided not to conjure up Jenny Bobo and the scary head board stories ;-). Rather, one of my earliest memories of just how much you mean to all of us.
Do you remember the day the bathroom mirror came down? I do. I relive that day in my mind so many times and thinking about how fortunate we all were that you (and Erin) escaped relatively unscathed. After Mom wisked you off to the hospital, us kids all huddled in your bedroom and just kept hoping and praying everything would be ok. I remember us kneeling around your bed (because that's where Erin was sleeping) and saying a little prayer on your behalf. In retrospect, I think that was more for us than you. We simply couldn't imagine our fun and games without you! And while you are a bazillion miles away now...we all still feel the same way!
Hope you had a great day! You DASERVE it! We love you very much!

JPD is such a poet !
Thanks for covering the mirror. Besides, the Queen in Snow White, it is probably the most famous "mirror story" ever ! And with the happiest ending !
Amen. That memory still gives me the chills. I'm not only grateful that Mel was okay, but that you had the maturity to think to pray to calm the rest of us down. Still can't believe that Erin only had a tiny scratch after all that.

Thank you a million times over for making me feel so special!
