Mission Accomplished!

On the 2nd worst day in St. George Marathon history...the first marathon rain day in 25 years...and 10 mph head winds and 54 degrees...Shauna and I completed the St. George Marathon. For me, it was my 6th and Shauna's first. Dad and Daren (Shauna's husband) were with us along with my Uncle Michael and Aunt Sandy (who hosted Dad and I).

For me, it was near perfect running weather. I like a light rain. I could have done without the wind and a little edge off the amount of rain would have been perfect. All said and done I was very happy and was able, after 6 years and 5 other attempts, finally able to achieve my goal of a SUB 4 hour marathon. My official time was 3 hours 54 minutes and 41 seconds.

I'm so blessed and grateful for the strength afforded me from Heavenly Father to accomplish this goal. I was also so grateful to have shared the day with Shauna and family. I missed having Amy and the kids with me! They signed my hat that I wore and I felt like they were with me every step of the way! I ran this year for St. Jude's Children's research hospital and raised over $4000. I've been told that this amount covers a signficant portion of a cancer treatment visit for a young patient. I know this service gave me an extra lift in my step!

Go Jeff! That is incredible. I remember you telling me of your goal last fall. Way to go. I am glad that you reached your goal! Stephanie ran the St. George too. I should have told you before so you could have looked for.
