10. Spending some good, quality time on our drive up-north (Jeff on cell phone, my face in a book, Riley hooked up to her Ipod, and the others...who cares!?!)
9. Lower gas prices!
8. Staying in the same motel room as last year, boat slip and "master suite" included!
7. Creating Easy Cheese art on Wheat Thins & Easy Cheese chapstick for all, while floating down the Cheboygan River.
6. Anchoring the boat on Mullet Lake and playing in the water.
5. Jeff having a hack-a-ma-tack over our over-priced dinner at our favorite "park-your-boat-and eat" restaurant called (quite fittingly) "Hackamatak".
4. Ian falling asleep in my lap.
3. Singing primary songs and saying a million little prayers to myself as Jeff tries to "feel his way" back down the river to our motel at 10:30 pm in the PITCH DARK! Needless to say, we are buying a really BIG flashlight to keep on the boat and some replacement blubs for the front headlight!
2. Watching Alec & Riley knee-board without falling off!
1. Alec waking up Friday morning with a fever of 101 and having to leave a day early. The girls wanted to go to Mackinac Island anyway and drag Alec around in a bike trailer...we did consider that option for about 6 minutes.

Sounds like a fun trip!! Too bad Alec wasn't feeling great by the end. So did Jeff's "Hack-a-ma-tack" involve a pork chop caught in his left ventricle?

Awesome family time, but what is it with Alec on family vacations? He's got a nice track record of visits to various emergency rooms and fevers while on vacation.
I think he should be a doctor when he grows up!
