Okay, here's the rundown of our upcoming weekend, where the craziness really started on Monday...
Monday - parent/teacher conference with Hannah's teacher. In a nutshell, Hannah is a sweetheart, but needs to stop talking and FOCUS gosh darnit! My mom & dad came over for dinner and FHE...plus homework, practicing piano, etc.
Tuesday - parent/teacher conference with Alec's teacher, which was pretty much a replay of Hannah's - FOCUS, and (unlike Hannah) he needs to stop being so silly! I left thinking that our kids have a missing gene - "the focusing one."
Wednesday - watch Adam for Scott and Leslie, ballet class for Hannah, haircuts for the boys, and Jeff and I went to the temple...ahhhhh, a chance to take a breath.
Thursday - shop for a dress for reunion Saturday night. I think I tried on about 30 of them, came home with two, and all I got from Jeff was "You look good in both of them." Yes, I've trained him well. Took girls to piano lessons, played with the boys at the park while we waited, rushed home and we all ate tacos, then I was off to a Stake Leadership Meeting. Jeff got home from Ohio about 15 minutes AFTER I left.
Friday - squeeze in a workout, help Jeff with posters for reunion (he's blowing up pictures from the yearbook to hang on the walls. They're really cool, but time consuming...we have to trim and tape each section of the picture together to make the full picture. They're about 5 x 7 finished.) Tonight we're going out to dinner with Ben and Erin, Suzy and Mark, and Paul and Linda. After that, I'm going to a RS sleepover at the Wright's house.
Saturday - Jeff volunteered to help do yardwork for a family in the ward, Alec's last soccer game (yeah!), Riley needs to get to a Stake Youth Activity just about the same time we need to be in Livonia for Jeff's 20 year reunion...which reminds me, we need a babysitter...
Sunday - The "crazy high-councilman" (my new nick-name for Jeff) is waking up at 5:00 am after partying all night long with his HS chums to go to a meeting, then at 9:00 we are both speaking in the Bloomfield Hills Ward (children will be left at home alone again :). I'll then rush to our ward building for a meeting, while Jeff dashes home to get the kids to go to our ward. Keep in mind, the travel time between all of these places is 30 minutes each way...Sunday night - birthday party at my house for my mom.
So, now I'm sitting here wondering where to start...and I'm thinking about this phone call I got Tuesday night from a research company who was taking a survey about health issues in Oakland County. I agreed to answer his questions and answered lots of questions about what I eat, how often I exercise, how often I go to the doctor - stuff like that. Then he asked me the question, "Would you consider yourself happy with your life? Are you very happy, somewhat happy, content, somewhat disappointed, or very disappointed?" I immediately replied, "Very Happy," which felt like an affirmation I needed to voice. He then asked, "How often do you feel support by those around you?" Again, I answered, "Very often", which is truly how I feel. I wondered how often he got answers very different from mine, and I suddenly felt so blessed in my life for my family and for the truths that I know from the gospel. I am so thankful to know that I am a daughter of Heavenly Father and that my calling of being a mother is a sacred one. I have a wonderful, supportive husband and even though our life is overflowing at times with things to do, I am happy and wouldn't have it any other way.

I hear ya, sister!
Sometimes it's easy to get overwhelmed with the busy details and lose sight of the big picture... I'm workin' on it!!!
You guys are mastering the skill of multi-tasking!! I'm amazed at how much you got done in 1 week, and nobody broke any bones and the house didn't burn down!!
We had a great time on Friday night too...looking forward to the next night out with the crazy high-council man...this time he needs to wear the white shirt!!
