This is Alec's new appliance to expand his upper pallet.
It looks more like a medieval torture device than
an orthodontic tool - don't ya think?
In my day, they just pulled your teeth out
for more room.
Every night, I take a little tool and turn the "key"
a 1/2 turn.
We have to do 14 total turns.
Despite the fact that this thing
makes it hard to eat and speak,
Alec has adjusted well and will be getting braces in June!
And speaking of eating,
these are what I brought to pack meeting last night
And here is our boy at pack meeting - getting his wolf badge.
And this face he is pulling is one he makes EVERY time
he gets an award at pack meeting.
You could call it a "reptilian stare" or just plain "weird".
Any way you say it, we love our E-Man!

I'm uber-impressed at the dental photography... haha!! How in the world did you get that angle?!!?
I am cringing at the ouch-factor of that 1/4 turn with a special key. Orthodontics has definitely come a long way!!! Gage gets his braces this summer as well. They can turn down popcorn & gum together! Yay!
I love Ian's reptilian stare.. haha!! He's such a ham! I think we should have a reptilian stare-off this weekend. I will start practicing right now... :)
Now I know what you meant when said, "the pack meeting smile". I love how he haves different smiles for different occasions. ;)
