Easter Tradition

On Saturday, keeping with tradition,
Mom hosted her annual Easter egg-dying party.
We had lunch together, dyed 4 dozen eggs,
and then the kids had an egg hunt in her backyard.

My kids look forward to this every year -
even the girls who you would think have out grown it!

These 2 hid the eggs full of candy outside...
while everyone else was busy inside!

They concocted a complicated "point" system -
solid colored = 5 pts
happy faced = 10 pts
small pink foil egg = 100 pts

But, in the end, the kids just wanted the candy!!

We went home with 18 beautiful eggs -
from ombre to spotted with stickers!

I took NO pictures of Easter morning
or Easter dinner,
but the kids looked great - boys both in their suits -
and the food was delicious.

Hannah and I tried a new carrot cake recipe from Our Best Bites
and Martha Stewart's Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
and her Asparagus W/Dijon Cream Sauce.
All were keepers!

We had my parents, Scott & Leslie & kids,
and Rudi & Andrea for dinner.
After dinner we played "Big Booty"
and "Murder" -
SOOOOOOOO appropriate for Easter, don't ya think???
