A Cleansing...

Ever since the end of April, when our move began, this is how my mind has felt...

Now, I know that my house is no longer in a state of chaos (this is ME, ya know)...
my head is!

Each time I think of sitting down at the computer to write a post about what we have been up to, I find something else that is more pending and I end up walking away. In fact, I'm so far behind that I feel like I need to dig my way out of May & June in order to move forward in my blogging world.

So, here is my attempt to recap the Day Family's May & June 2010.
A "cleansing", if you will.
Here we go:

Mother's Day was our first big party at the new house. We enjoyed the fruits of Jeff's new grill and a fruit shortcake! Speaking of fruits...

Memorial Day began with the Milford Parade in the morning, with family and friends.

Our Stake President, President Lantz, even marched in the parade as a Vietnam veteran with an old friend of his...

We spent the rest of the day on White Lake for some boating & beach fun!

Riley completed driver's training right before school ended.
If you ask Riley, posing for these pictures was one of her most embarrassing moments. I guess no one else's mom, in the history of Driver's Ed, has ever gotten out of the car, introduced herself to the instructor, and asked for a snapshot.

From our oldest learning to drive, our youngest graduated from Kindergarten!

And lastly, we spent Father's Day weekend on Mackinac Island at the Grand Hotel of all places! Jeff had a conference for work there and we got to tag along.

After 6:30 pm, all "gentlemen" had to wear a tie & suit coat and "ladies" had to wear a skirt. So Ian was so excited to wear his new "sweater", as he referred to it.

We arrived in the evening for dinner the first day and we were exhausted! We had gone to stake conference that morning, drove 5 hours up-north, took a ferry across Lake Michigan, and then waited for and eventually rode a horse-drawn carriage to the Grand Hotel.

At dinner the first night, Ian kept asking me if he was still being a gentleman. So sweet. And poor Alec was sick with a fever, but was a trooper dosed-up on Motrin.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful and meticulously well-kept. These stairs led down to a garden area where you could play croquet, bocce ball, or swim at the pool.

And we enjoyed the island for 2 more days: biking, swimming, eating fudge.
You know the drill.

Ian did 6 whole miles and he's only been riding a 2-wheeler for six weeks!

And that's it folks!

My July update will have to wait...the family reunion starts tomorrow!!!

I loved your pictography (sp?) of May and June, Amy.
What a whirl of events and so much of good times.
