Sad News

We just found out today that Alec's friend, Gabe Pope's, Dad died while serving in Iraq on Friday. He was a retired Marine and worked as a sniper for a private security agency in Iraq. His job would take him away for 3 months at a time, and then he'd be home for a month - on and off all year.

Gabe lives down the street from us and we first met his family when Alec & Gab were on the Lakeland Broncos football team together last fall. They really hit it off and since football has ended they play together a lot.


His Mom, Ashley, and I became friends while watching the boys practice 3 nights a week. They are such a sweet family and our hearts & prayers go out to them during this difficult time. Here's a link from the Fox News story about Justin Pope.
