For the 3rd year in a row, I was the "mom" for Alec's reading club.
We met on Thursdays in the media center for lunch each week
from 11:45-12:30.
We ate. I corralled them back to the table.
We played UNO. We talked about what we read at home.
We played LEFT, RIGHT, CENTER - a dice game.
And I tried to get them to read a little with me each week. :)
Altogether we finished 4 books (1 a month) - which, I thought, was a success!!
Our favorite, hands down, was the new John Grisham children's book
in the picture. We learned a lot about what lawyers do!
Honestly, I'm happy to have my Thursdays back,
but I will miss my time with Alec & his friends each week.
And I can't believe they'll be in middle school next year!!

Ooh... we'll have to check that book out this summer!! I bet your group for Reading Club was the most fun!!
Would that be the "Readingless" Club ?
This and Cub Scouts in the same year ... you get my thumbs-up award !
Now I'm thinking how happy I am that my baby will not be in middle school next year as 6th grade sits comfortably at the top of the elementary school.
Looks like an awesome book club. Maybe you'll be the cool enough mom that can pull it off at the middle school, too!
